Transformers can be divided into outdoor and indoor types according to installation conditions. According to industry standards, dry-type transformers are generally installed indoors. When the customer requires outdoor installation, a special protective enclosure (higher protection level, such as IP44, is required to protect the side from water, and the top entry and exit method is not provided).
Why can't dry-type transformers be used directly outdoors? If used outdoors, the current dry-type transformers have the following three insulation problems:

①The tension structure of the iron core adopts the channel steel + pull plate structure. In this structure, the pull plate is located between the coil and the iron core. The pull plate is made of iron, which is easy to rust. In the rain, the insulating layer on the outer surface of the pull plate is easily damaged, resulting in short-circuit damage to the transformer. In addition, the pulling plate is located between the coil and the iron core, occupying a certain space, and the inner diameter of the coil increases, which wastes the coil material and increases the power consumption.

②The self-drying resin insulating paint layer on the surface of the iron core is easily weathered and cracked after being exposed to the sun and rain. Problems will arise.

③ The low-voltage coil and high-voltage coil are cast with epoxy resin, and the epoxy resin is not strong in cracking resistance and ultraviolet resistance. This dry-type transformer is used outdoors. After long-term exposure to the sun, wind and rain, the epoxy resin will crack and eventually The insulation is completely broken, causing a short circuit in the coil.
